Hey Chaaaaarrrrlliiieee...

Don't get me wrong I love Peanuts.. This is one of those which just popped into my head. It happens sometime. You're just walking around and then BAM!! Murder Ruxpin! It was actually Peanuts which prompted me to create Leroy nine years ago. For that I owe Schulz. Hopefully he doesn't roll too much.

It should be explained for anybody doesn't know who Charlotte Braun. She was a girl that came into Peanuts as a counterpart of Charlie Brown. That role was taken by Sally eventually. Her habit of talking loudly was eventually taken by Lucy. But since the character wasn't very developed, Schulz decided to drop the character. In 2000, it was discovered that there was a letter written in 1955 by a reader who disliked the character, which was responded by Schulz saying that he was already planning to discontinue her. He reminded the reader and her friends that they would have the death of an innocent child on their conscience, and would they be prepared to accept such responsibility? At the end of the letter there was a picture of Charlotte Braun with an ax in her head. Her strips were never reprinted until they came out with The Complete Peanuts second volume, which Mort is reading there. Oh ya one more thing. Mort is back! Haven't seen him since July.

Here's the ref for Good ol Charlotte Braun. Wikipedia is your friend.

It's one of those little gags..

These are the easy ones to do. So easy in fact, that I had to amuse myself with Gar's shirt. But it's a good one. I'm not sure if I'll be staying this way, but for now Same Apartment comes inked! That's right, this is the last one (for now). From now on (for now), Same Apartment is done with a completely other step for the artist with absolutely no cost to you the viewer. I hope you enjoy the extra work put into it. I know I have.

Same Apt #12..

New update! I'll be busy all morning tomorrow. So I don't have to put this up late, I'll do it right now. After all it's technically Saturday. It's been Saturday for fifteen minutes. Ah Linkin Park is there nothing you won't screamy whine about? No, I think it's all about the same thing. But when you're in a funk who's right there? Linkin Park. Right there whispering in your ear to slit your wrists. Gar of course got out of his funk a couple of weeks ago.

Same Apt Panel of my Dreams

I also think I'm getting the hand of this micron pen. Panel's from an upcoming comic. Full description is at the link to my Deviantart page BTW this one won't end up going on the site, because it'll eventually get there through Panel World. Should be there about 10/14 or 10/21.

Second New Comic..and um.. Genesis this time too..

This one's one of the comics I mentioned which I drew awhile back (though not as far as the older comics, like #003, but still far back enough that you can see differences in not only Gar, but Wolv himself. That being said, I did say that I would minimize breaking the fourth wall, but in all defense I did draw this before I said that.

Cool Posey..

Since I'm up to October on archive comics, I went in and made winter wardrobes for the characters. This was the best of the sketchbook page that I filled with them.

First new comic and Genesis...

First let me say that I've had a lot of ups and downs this last month. A good many times I didn't think my work was up to snuff and just plain couldn't do anything. I'm just now getting over the cold that threw me on my back a couple of days ago and sent me crawling for the commentary on the Venture Brothers dvd (how desperate is that?) This Saturday's comic (which I just realize now has been up for a couple of days) is the result of not only my crappy days, but some other people I know who've had some bad days of their own. This was compounded for some of those people when Steve Irwin met his untimely fate yesterday morning. I never watched his shows, but from what I've gathered today, he was very passionate about his work. But that's what art is for, to make people feel things and I hope that this comic is cathartic for others as it is for me to draw it.

Now for something a bit more lighthearted. Genesis marks the first break of summer, here's to hoping the cool weather lasts a bit longer.
